A Steampunk Sweet 16 party...

by - Thursday, October 09, 2014

The wait is over... Here are pictures from Brenna's Steampunk party commemorating her 16th birthday at the River Vale Country Club. It was a day enjoyed by everyone! All the terrific costumes, delicious food, and festive Steampunk theme details added to the spirit of the celebration. I invite you to experience the day through this visual recap... All decor and design by A little something... Photography by Christopher's Studio.   Here are some favorite shots taken outside before guests arrived. Brenna's full skirt is printed with a novelty octopus design, matching the motif of her Kracken leather hat from Blonde Swan

Welcoming guests as they arrive, this sign sets the mood before they ascend the stairs.
Pennants, paper, and party-time, oh my!
Welcome one and all... Sign in table where guests received a party badge and hat.
Make a wish for the birthday girl.
Brenna's Wish Box... like a box of chocolates.
On the bar, Venus decked out with goggles and a Steampunk topper.
Hand-made paper fans above the dining table.
Amid the paper lantern and fans, a suspended airship flies.
The dirigible is made with an oblong paper lantern, wood print and gear motifs.
The long dining table set for the feast.
Elegant sandstone and ivory linens with custom menus for each place setting.
Ivory tapered candles in amber glass bottles wrapped in burlap and sealed with a wax stamp.
Bronze cans filled with fresh white roses, vinca vine and grapes. The table runner is made of book pages from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Let the fete begin!
Novelty themed drink choices were between a Sonic Screwdriver or Brass Goggles.
For the dessert table, a hot air balloon centerpiece of white roses, vinca and grapes in a wicker basket adorned with antique pocket watch.
Yes, cog cookies! Gears are melted chocolate, peanut butter and a mix atop thin shortbread wafers.
Many enjoyed a cup of tea with their confections.
Brenna wanted a naked cake, pure and simple... Three tiers of vanilla cake layered with home-made whipped cream and fresh berries.
A teeny tiny birthday banner on the cake.
Before she lit the candles, Brenna had a word of thanks for all her friends.
So where is the photo booth? This way!
Grab a prop and strike a pose!
Frame is made completely of cardboard suspended from the ceiling.
Antique cameras add to the vignettes.
Alongside the props...
More photo booth fun!
The gallery filling up with photos taken and printed. Bronze painted PVC piping with wire and clothespins display the photos.
Take home tokens for each guest. A specially wrapped parcel of goodies to enjoy.
What a wonderful day! Everyone joined in the fun and made her birthday very special indeed!

The next event is calling... This birthday girl is looking forward to the 2015 Steampunk World's Fair! Here we come! xoxo-Sonya
