Think Spring... 2011 Trends...

by - Wednesday, January 19, 2011

With all the snow on the ground (and more to arrive tomorrow evening! Ugh!), I keep thinking spring...
Back to the drawing board in time to take a look at influences and tendencies for the new spring season just around the corner. Here let me share my illustrated design concepts for the season - a taste of more to come...
Spring 2011 Design Direction
Demure
Coy and seductive, soft nudes and tinted neutrals accented with grey, bleached blues, white and eggshell. Pointelle, mother of pearl, lace, shells & sheer, beauty restored with ladylike ease, rich timeworn luster maintaining ageless style.

************
Nymph
A young maiden of beauty and grace, she is bathed in shades of chartreuse green and butter yellows. Jade tokens, hand-picked seashells and brass trinkets emerge paired with cork, wicker and satin, with a touch of lace.

************
Artist in Residence
An artist palette of rich watercolor hues grounded with warm wood and sable brown, bark and canvas. Gemstones accented with shades taken from a toolbox of pencils and paints, rustic linen and jute cording combine with tassels, filigree wood shapes, antique gold and hand crochet webs.

************
Primal Instinct
A natural habitat of eclectic safari looks, wildly stylish with a new jungle beat in saturated earthen hues. Chunky lapis marries lacquered redwood with printed leather, jute and copper. Ethnic printed wood beads and reptile skins complement agate and jasper stones.

************
Punk & Roll
Sophisticated lady meets biker babe and marries punk. Black seals the style amplified with pearls, gold, buckles and metal hardware & trinkets. Classy with a dangerously sexy twist, safety pins, black jet stones and cabochons.
************
Fruit Cocktail
60's styling with a burst of zesty orange and rust hues as the base for an assortment of bright bold color. Macrame, Lucite, ombre and gold mix with accents of black in hand stitched details. Painted motifs and inlaid stones bring fruit and flora to life in chunky wearable art.

************
Soul Sister
Glamour icons of the 70's pay homage to the slinky bohemian style in the liquid lounge. Inky color blends into murano glass, opaque stones and vintage gold linked tortoise. Relaxed silhouettes with halter styles bare arms adorned with bangles and  baubles, a chunky kaleidoscope of textures and color.

Remember... keep thinking spring... xoxo-Sonya
